Mert Özkılıç — Co-founder & Technical Lead

Civil engineer from Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, with a Master's in Advanced Architecture from IAAC Barcelona. His thesis analyzed the data behind why restaurants fail, which inspired him to build custom spatial and predictive AI tools for the hospitality sector. Specializing in real-time AI systems, Mert bridges the gap between complex engineering and practical, real-world solutions that help businesses thrive.

Louis Mas — Co-founder & Creative AI Lead

Louis Mas is a French-Catalan photographer and filmmaker. After working with major media companies in Paris — including Marmiton — he moved to Barcelona and started working directly with restaurants to create content for their social media. He kept running into the same problem: professional photography was too expensive, too slow, and too hard to keep up with for most restaurant owners.

Our Story — It started with a friendship

We met through a mutual friend in 2023. What started as dinners, parties, and trips across Spain and France slowly turned into deeper conversations about technology, creativity, and what the restaurant industry was missing.

When Louis brought up the visual problem, what he charged for a single day of photography, and how most restaurants simply couldn't afford it regularly, he already had a vision: make high-quality food visuals accessible to everyone. Mert believed restaurants deserved smarter tools to scale, without depending on expensive production or outside help every time they needed new content. Something clicked: Louis's artistic vision and Mert's technical execution. We weren't just talking about better photos. We were talking about giving restaurants a real competitive edge.

We decided to build FoodyFocus together.
